O, (astrological) Canada, Il sait porter la croix!

More on Canada, because I was scolded slightly by astrologer and Canadian historian Rab Wilkie… yes, Canadian self-rule was a separation, not from the “English crown,” but the UK colonial continuum, and so I stand corrected – Canada broke from the UK, not the monarchy.

The question as to why the French blue was nixed from the Maple Leaf flag design is surely to remind French Canadians that they are no longer under the French crown. Canada was ceded to the Brits in 1763 with the Treaty of Paris (not the one from 1783), as a consequence of the Seven-Year war. The noon chart with the known planets of the day, with my usual array of fixed stars is:

Figure 1
Figure 2: The stars Deneb Algedi and Sadalsuud “point” to the center of the Northern Cross in the ecliptic grid.

I added Sadr [Sdr]to the mix as it is conjunct the Sun. As I explain in Emersion, Sadr, which marks the center of the cross shape in Cygnus, aligns with the stars that mark Mars’ exaltation: Sadalsuud [Sad] and Deneb Algedi [DeA].

The Treaty chart boasts a very spiffy Sun/Sadr conjunction, with only one arcminute of difference in ecliptic value – 21°33′ Aquarius for Sadr to 21°34′ Aquarius for the Sun. (And, yes, that Sun value is for the center of the disc; the Sun is actually about 36′ wide. This will be important in a bit.)

Thus, yet again, we are finding that this special “gate” in the sky plays a prominent role in the foundation of nations. The original Sibly Chart for United States of America independence, as found in Sibly’s Illustration of the Celestial Science…, also points to Sadalsuud and Deneb Algedi with its ascendant of 19°49′ Aquarius.

Cygnus and the Christian cross were already comingled motifs in the public domain well before the mid-18th Century. Julius Schiller’s atlas Coelum Stellatum Christianum was published in 1627, based on the earlier atlas by Johann Bayer called Uranometria. In the illustration, Saint Helena’s right hand is pointing to the star Sadr:

From William Tyler Olcott’s Star Lore of All Ages.

It should also be noted that Sadr marks the 0° Aquarius point in the Fagan zodiac, lying just beyond the 28° Capricorn Mars exaltation point:

Canada was not the only domain that the Treaty of Paris hashed out. However, it may have been of highest importance, as the relocation to Montreal (Royal Mountain?) finds the Sun and the three stars on the ascendant, and the exaltation of Mars:

Figure 1b: Figure 1a relocated to Montreal.

Due to atmospheric refraction, the Sun would appear at that moment to be partially above the horizon. Sky Map Pro shows this well:

Figure 3: The Sun’s disc appears partially above the horizon due to refraction, even though the astrological chart shows it over one degree below the ascendant. Map is cast for Feb 10, 1763, 12:05:22 UT @ Montreal, Canada.

Back to the Maple Leaf Flag

Given that the Treaty of Paris gave Canada to the Brits (UK), can we assume that the chart was a consideration of the Maple Leaf Flag flagraising chart? Of course, and it’s a sweet as maple syrup.

Going back to the original chart in the tropical zodiac (Figure 1), let’s add the modern planets to the array:

Figure 1c: Figure 1 with Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto/

And then relocate again to Montreal:

Figure 1d: Tropical zodiac relocation to Montreal, with Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

To that, we make a bi-wheel with the Maple Leaf Flag on the outer wheel:

Figure 4

Here we see that Flag Mercury is on Treaty Ascendant, squared by Neptune and Jupiter! (Flags are very Mercurial.) Also, we have an interchart Full Moon! Also, we have Flag Mars directly opposite Treaty Mars! Also, we have a Flag Ascendant and North Node in trine to the Treaty Sun and Ascendant! Also, we have a Flag Pluto trine to the Treaty Venus! Flag Sun sextiles Treaty North Node! There are other more intricate details, but the connections are such that we have to suspect ritual astrology.

A little of 200 years elapsed between these events, so a look at the Fagan values may yield some more goodies, and it does:

Figure 1e: Figure 1b with Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

And then with the Maple Leaf Flag in the Fagan zodiac:

Figure 5

And here we have the punch line: Flag Moon on the horizontal, with high precision, and a sweet Flag Jupiter trine the Treaty Venus (amongst other interchart connections).

In both charts, the crossing of the cardinal points is dominant.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee astrologee.
