O, (astrological) Canada!

Freemasonic 33 encoded in the Canadian flag.

In my never-ending endeavor to show that much of the secular West has been cultivated by that venerable complex of fraternal organizations that claim to be freemasonic, a quick look at Canada is due.

The kernels of the nations that are now the USA and Canada evolved along the same lines, mostly, with immigrants from England and France. Canada stuck with the English crown, though that yoke has slowly lifted, with Canada asserting more self-rule over the centuries.

One step in that direction was creating a new national standard. The Canadian flag we have today celebrated its 6oth year in 2024-5, and my guess is that most humans alive don’t remember the old one.

Implementing the new national symbol was no haphazard or flippant affair, and apparently riled up the sentiments of Canadians. Once a new design was finally chosen, it was mathematically and geometrically defined, officailized by the Parliament, and then finally run up the Big Pole at the Capital, Ottawa, on a day that the stars would be honored.

National destiny has always been written in the stars, where the fates of mankind were decided by the gods. Canada is no different, and given the freemasonic presence there, quite up for the ritual astrology to be demonstrated.

The New Maple Leaf Flag Chart

At the stroke of noon on February 15, 1965, Canada’s red and white maple leaf flag was raised for the very first time on Parliament Hill. That’s an easy chart to cast:

Figure 1: Jupiter is exactly 33° from the ascendant.

As we always look to the angles and the luminaries first, we are not disappointed to find the Moon smack-dab on the IC, which traditional astrologers will tell you is a very happy place for Luna – the natural “4th house cusp,” which is related to the zodiac’s fourth sign called Cancer.

But, there’s more! The MC is the other polarity of the meridian, which begs us to ask if there is anything important atoub the 23rd degree of Aquarius. Readers of my other blog, Emersion, will automatically groan and recognize that this is where the two stars that mark Mars’ ancient exaltation currently reside:

Figure 1b: star markers for the ancient exaltations: Ple = the Pleiades (Moon); AsA = Asellus Australis (Jupiter); Por = Porrima (Mercury); Zeg = Zubenelgenubi (Saturn); Sad = Sadalsuud (Mars); DeA = Deneb Australis (Mars also).

If we re-cast the chart in the old Fagan zodiac, and then replace those stars with the points, we get:

Figure 1c: the Maple Leaf chart in the Fagan zodiac, with all seven ancient exaltation points on the outer ring.

Noting that this chart is just shy of a perfect full moon, we might also notice that The Sun @ 2°33′ Aquarius is square to the Lunar exaltation point of 3° Taurus. The chart’s ascendant of 27°01′ Taurus is in a happy sextile to Venus’ exaltation of 27° Pisces, while Venus herself @ 18°44′ Capricorn is square to the Sun’s exaltation of 19° Aries. Uranus @ 19°14 of Leo is in a happy trine to the exaltation of the Sun’s exaltation of 19° Aries, and so we have an interesting circuit going on.

Another circuit is the four planets (well, three planets and the lunar nodes) at ~25°:
* Jupiter @ 24°01′ Aries
* North Node @ 25°18′ Taurus
* Neptune @ 25°45′ Libra
* Mercury @ 25°59′ Capricorn

The only one left out of this is Saturn, though we can see that Pluto is in a happy sextile to Saturn’s exaltation.

“But, Ed,” you are surely asking, “…does this have anything to do with the original Canada?” Maybe. Canada became a quasi-independent constitutional state in 1867, statuatorally at midnight of June 30/July 1, though the ceremonial commencement of the new government was held at noon on July 1. I defer to the excellent Canadian Rab Wilkie on this matter, and note that there were no time zones in 1867, only Local Mean Time, which was surely kept with high accuracy by the capital’s horologists.

In any event, Canada’s noon chart in the Fagan zodiac is as follows:

Figure 2

It is easy to see that Mercury’s exaltation point (15° Virgo, marked by the star Porrima @ 15°25′ Virgo) is on the ascendant, square to the Sun/Uranus conjunctin on the MC. That Sun/Uranus conjunction is in a trine to lucky Jupiter, as is the Moon (New country? New Moon!)

Of course, Pluto had yet to be discovered, and if there were anal-retentive ritual astrologers goint at this, they would have been aghast. Yet, look at Saturn here – somewhat close to its own exaltation, in quincunx aspects to both Venus and Neptune, and in a happy sextile to the north Lunar Node. I could mention other things, but it’s time for the bi-wheel:

Figure 3

The central freemasonic reason for Canada’s July 1, 1867 nooner chart has to be that that was the day that the Sun co-culminated with Sirius:

12:04:58 – Sirius culminates
12:06:17 – Sun culminates

The difference of one minute and 19 secons shows that this was the day these two bodies culminated closest-ly. Compare that to the Sun/Sirius conjuntion on the day that the Continental Congress in Philadelphia vote for Independence – July 2, 1776. Those Aglican freemasons sure were Sirius about their astrology.

In Closing

We might ask why the Canadians adopted a flag that is mostly red with the rest being white, but the answer is probably the Red Planet. The USA and the French Republic have flags with blue amidst the red and the white, but Canada only sees red? Well, who cares what Canadians do anyway. They are very nice people but also very boring. Even their rock bands are polite and congenial. Really, Geddy Lee could probably host Masterpiece Theater with his soft-spoken politeness. The same goes for Triumph – it’s like they were all on the chess team in high school. The red is the only thing that might make us fear them, like, “Do you really want to mess with us? We have a red flag!”
